Buffalo Bills: Grading the WRs on the roster prior to the 2021 NFL Draft
Last year, the Buffalo Bills wide receivers took a significant step forward and made the case as being one of the best groups in the NFL. It starts with Stefon Diggs at the top but Cole Beasley emerged as one of the best slot receivers and without John Brown for a majority of the year, became Josh Allen’s number two target.
However, the depth is where this group really shines as they have Gabriel Davis, last year’s fourth round pick, play well and finish second on the team in receiving touchdowns with seven. They also were able to bring back Isaiah McKenzie, who doesn’t see a large volume of snaps but brings some versatility to this offense.
This is my grade for the wide receiver position looking at starters but also taking into account depth at the position.

Final Grade: A
Even though the wide receivers were excellent last year, there is a case to be made that this group could be even better this season. The Bills, unfortunately, had to release John Brown due to cap reasons but were able to add Emmanuel Sanders on a one-year deal. The swap of those players could be argued was an upgrade for this offense.
The Bills also have great depth with the previously mentioned Gabriel Davis, who will step in as a starter if the need were to arise but should see snaps as a fourth wide receiver. The return of Isaiah McKenzie gives the Bills a veteran backup to Cole Beasley while the team still has players like Duke Williams and Jake Kumerow who have shown they are more than capable to step in.

This doesn’t even mention a player like Isaiah Hodgins, who was a sixth round pick last year but missed his entire rookie season due to injury. It remains to be seen what he can bring to the position but in the end the wide receiver is one that looks pretty well set.
