Round 6 – 213th Overall: Demetric Felton, WR (UCLA)
Round 7 – 236th Overall: Avery Williams, CB (Boise State)
With the final two picks of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills address both sides of the ball. In the sixth round, the Bills draft Demetric Felton out of UCLA. The Bills actually have already met virtually with Felton and this is a player that is on their radar.
Felton is a small but quick receiver at 5’9″ and 190 pounds and would likely be used similar to how Brian Daboll uses Isaiah McKenzie. He also could contribute to special teams and compete to replace Andre Roberts as the team’s primary kick returner as he had 26 kickoff returns in college.
Then with the Buffalo Bills’ final pick in this year’s NFL Draft, they select cornerback Avery Williams out of Boise State. At 5’9″ and 195 pounds he would likely be limited as a nickel corner in the NFL but this is a position that is important to this defense with how much they use the nickel formation.
The team’s starting nickel, Taron Johnson, is entering the final year of his contract and if they are not able to work out an extension then Avery Williams could be a logical replacement in 2022.
