Round 2 – 61st Overall: Pat Freiermuth, TE (Penn State)

The tight end position was one that seemed to be high on the priority list for the Buffalo Bills coming out of last season. They did have Dawson Knox but he has been up and down over the past two seasons.

While the Bills did address the position by signing free agent Jacob Hollister, this is a move that doesn’t dissuade them from taking another tight end like Pat Freiermuth out of Penn State. At the top of the tight end class this year is Kyle Pitts, who will likely be a Top 10 pick, but after him could be Freiermuth as the next best tight end.

Freiermuth was very productive during his time at Penn State with 92 receptions, 1,185 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns in three seasons. However, he did play only four games this past year due to shoulder surgery.

The addition of Freiermuth would give this offense an athletic tight end that could be the featured tight end as early as his rookie season.
