After the 2021 NFL Draft, the landscape in the AFC East could look very different. While the Buffalo Bills should remain at the top, the other three teams have a number of picks at the top of the NFL Draft that could make their teams drastically better.

The other three teams in the AFC East (New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots) combined have nine of the Top 50 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. There are two teams, the Jets and Patriots, that could draft their next franchise quarterback with two of those picks.

However, there are other players that could be drafted that fit needs for these teams that the Buffalo Bills should be watching closely. These are players that could be matchup nightmares for years to come, starting with a player at a position they struggled to stop last year.

Kyle Pitts

Since 1997, there have been only four tight ends drafted in the Top 10 and the highest during this stretch was Kellen Winslow who was selected sixth overall in 2004. However, Kyle Pitts out of the University of Florida appears likely to join this group and could be a potential target for the Miami Dolphins at sixth overall.

One of the reasons that Kyle Pitts is going to be such a challenge for opposing defenses is he has a unique blend of size and athleticism. Whichever team drafts him is going to be able to line him up all over the field from in-line to the slot to even on the outside.

If Kyle Pitts were to be drafted by the Dolphins, it will force Leslie Frazier and the defensive coaching staff to get creative. Right now, their best option would likely be Matt Milano but this could force them to take a closer look at a big nickel that could match Pitts in coverage.
