Honorable Mention: Wide Receiver

Draft Picks Total Value: 599.6

Draft Pick Value (with Stefon Diggs trade): 1,459

Draft Picks: Zay Jones (2017), Ray-Ray McCloud (2018), Austin Proehl (2018), Gabriel Davis (2020), Isaiah Hodgins (2020)

The wide receiver position is the one with the most drafted players since Sean McDermott took over with five total players. However, a majority of these picks took place in the later rounds with Zay Jones being a high second round pick at 37th overall in 2017. This keeps the draft pick value just outside of the Top 5 even with the number of wide receivers drafted.

However, when looking at draft capital invested at the position, the trade last year for Stefon Diggs should at least be discussed. The Bills traded four picks, including last year’s first round pick, for the star wide receiver which totaled 859.4 points, which that trade alone would rank fourth in these rankings.

The trade certainly worked out for the Buffalo Bills but technically those four picks weren’t all four wide receivers and that is why it is an honorable mention.
