The Buffalo Bills have found success with LSU cornerbacks, like Tre’Davious White, and could be hoping to find similar success with another prospect. It was reported by Brooks Kubena after the LSU Pro Day that the Bills had spoken with Kary Vincent Jr.

After playing in only four games in 2017, Vincent saw his role grow and he would play in 28 games over the next two seasons. During that stretch, he would have five interceptions and 14 passes defended. In 2019, Kary Vincent Jr. had seven total tackles and one interception in the team’s two games in the College Football Playoffs.

However, the 2019 season would be the last time he would play for the Tigers after he elected to opt out of this past season due to the pandemic.

According to Pro Football Network’s scouting report, Kary Vincent Jr. is a corner with excellent ball skills and does a good job in route recognition while playing in zone coverage. When hearing these types of attributes it isn’t surprising to hear the Bills had spoken to the former LSU Tiger corner.

How might he fit on the Buffalo Bills?

While he went to the same school as Tre’Davious White, he likely would not have the same impact. At only 5’10” and 189 pounds, he would likely be primarily a slot corner.

However, for the Buffalo Bills, this is a critical position as they play a significant portion of their defensive scheme in a nickel formation. This past season, Taron Johnson played 77% of the defensive snaps and Kary Vincent Jr. would likely be the primary backup to Johnson for this season if he was drafted.

After this season though, he could have a chance at the starting job as Taron Johnson is entering his final year of his contract. If the Buffalo Bills were not able to sign him to a new deal, the selection of Kary Vincent Jr. would give them another option at the position.
