Isaiah McKenzie

At this point, the favorite should be wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who returned to the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal this offseason. McKenzie has primarily been a gadget player for the Bills offense the past two and half seasons but does have experience on both kickoffs and punts.

He has 20 career kickoff returns for an average of 19.2 yards per return and 39 punt returns for an average of 9.5 yards per return. However, he hasn’t had to do either recently regularly because of Roberts being on the Bills. He has only five kickoff returns and two punt returns over the past two seasons but did return a punt for a touchdown last season in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins.

The reason McKenzie should be considered the frontrunner is that he gives the team more roster flexibility as he could remain in his role on offense but also be the team’s primary kickoff and punt returner with his experience.
