Devin Singletary
The run game was the biggest weaknesses on the Buffalo Bills offense this past season. They entered the season with high expectations with Devin Singletary, coming off a promising rookie season in 2019, and rookie Zack Moss, who was a third round pick.
It was Singletary who started all 16 games for the Bills last season at running back but it could be Zack Moss who becomes the starter this season. In the later part of the season, Moss started to surpass Singletary in terms of touches as well as snaps and looked to be more effective out of the backfield.
One of the reasons Moss will likely take over the starting role is because he can essentially do everything you want from your running back. He has power to run between the tackles, elusiveness on the outside and can catch the ball out of the backfield.
The biggest advantage, and the thing that will keep him on the field the most, is his ability to pick up rushers. According to Pro Football Focus, Moss had the second most pass-blocking snaps with 55 but gave up only one QB pressure, which was the lowest among rookie running backs.
If the Buffalo Bills don’t add another running back this offseason, then Zack Moss should be the team’s starting running back this coming season.
