The Buffalo Bills last year had one of the best teams in the NFL with a 13-3 record, an AFC East division title, and reached the AFC Championship Game. This offseason the team was fortunate to bring back a number of players from last year’s team and keep most of their starting lineup in place.
While they had one of the top rosters in the league, there is room for improvement. This means that starters from last year’s team could already be in jeopardy of losing their starting job. These are three players that were starters that will not be entering this coming season guaranteed to be starters.
Levi Wallace
While Levi Wallace has started 28 regular-season games over the past two seasons, he has seen his snaps drop over that time. This past season Wallace started 12 games but played only 57% of the defensive snaps.
The Buffalo Bills did bring Wallace back this offseason on a one-year deal but he is likely to face much tougher competition for that starting job this offseason. That competition starts with Dane Jackson, who was a seventh-round pick last year and played well in the few games he played.
However, by the time training camp rolls around, Jackson may not be the only competition. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Buffalo Bills add another cornerback in the NFL Draft or even another veteran cornerback in free agency.
