Buffalo Bills: 4 Alabama prospects to target in 2021 NFL Draft
Running back Najee Harris is the next Alabama prospect that Beane and company have likely been doing their homework on. Harris is intriguing mostly because of the debate surrounding the Buffalo Bills taking a running back at 30th overall.
Harris is regarded by some as the top running back in this draft class and for good reason. He is arguably the most complete running back in this class. However, the top three running backs all bring a little bit of a different flavor to the position and it will likely be up to what a team desires or prefers most that dictates which one will be selected first.
Through the majority of the season and especially once the Buffalo Bills were eliminated from the playoffs, improving the running game was at the top of the agenda for things to address in this offseason. The argument from there was if the Bills needed to upgrade the offensive line or the running back position. Now that they have brought back Williams, Feliciano, and agreed to a pay cut with Mitch Morse, it would suggest that the Bills will improve at the running back position.
However, the offensive line of Dawkins, Ford, Morse, Feliciano, and Williams only played something like 5 snaps together in 2020 because of the timeline of when injuries occurred to Ford, Morse, and Feliciano. So there is an argument to be made that this is a somewhat new starting offensive that the Bills are projected to be rolling out in 2021, despite all of the players being on the team last year.
With all of that being said, the Buffalo Bills have done an excellent job of filling positional needs this offseason which has put them in a position to draft the best player available with their 1st round pick. If Harris is on the board at 30th overall, the Bills could absolutely take him there because he could very well be the top player on their draft board.
