Buffalo Bills: 4 reasons why signing Mitchell Trubisky was a great move
Trubisky’s playing style
One of the things that make Josh Allen so special is his playing style. The physical abilities he brings to the quarterback position make him a tough matchup for opposing defenses to slow down by the way he is able to scramble and make plays with his legs.
While Mitchell Trubisky isn’t necessarily Josh Allen, he is athletic enough to make plays with his legs and pick up yards while scrambling. For his career, Trubisky has 190 rushing attempts and a career average of 5.6 yards per attempt, and eight rushing attempts. There have been two occasions in his career where he has had a rush over 45 yards.
While Brian Daboll would likely need to switch up the playbook some if Mitchell Trubisky were to have to come into the game, it may not have to be as much as if they had to put Fromm or Davis Webb into the game.
In the end, the Buffalo Bills likely hope that Mitchell Trubisky does not have to play for an extended period of time because this means Josh Allen is still leading this offense. However, if something does happen, they have ensured they have a capable player to step in to try and keep things on track.
