Takes pressure off Jake Fromm

The Buffalo Bills last year made the surprise selection of University of Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm in the fifth round. He was once considered a top collegiate quarterback but fell during the NFL Draft and the Bills seemingly saw too much value to pass up on the selection.

He certainly has the potential to be an above-average backup, low-end starter but if the Bills were to go into this season with Fromm as the backup it would have been a risk. Even though he is entering his second season in the NFL, it is hard to put too much weight on last year.

The reason being due to precautions taken by the team, Fromm was their emergency quarterback and essentially practiced away from the rest of the team the entire season. This, combined with no preseason games, raises the question of how he would do as a starter if the need were to arise.

Now that the Bills have Trubisky on the roster, it takes the pressure off Jake Fromm and eliminates those questions.
