Unfortunately, like the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills, the Chicago Bears are also without a 4th round draft pick for the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. That being said, I did my best to craft a somewhat fair trade for both sides shown on the graphic above. Out of the three teams that I think could be interested in trading for Jake Fromm, this is the most far-fetched of the three hypothetical trades that I’ve projected.

It would probably be more likely that the Chicago Bears decline this trade and would be willing to trade the Bills the 164th overall pick straight up for Jake Fromm. Then, similar to the scenario I laid out with the Eagles trade, the Bills could then find a 3rd party team to trade with to break into the 4th round.

After recently signing Andy Dalton, the Chicago Bears are set to enter the 2021 NFL season with Dalton and Nick Foles as their only two quarterbacks on the roster. It’s obvious that neither Foles nor Dalton are the long-term future of the quarterback position in Chicago, so perhaps they would be interested in bringing in a younger quarterback like Fromm.

Fromm wouldn’t have to start immediately for the Bears if he got traded there. He could sit behind two seasoned veterans and learn a lot of good things in his pseudo-rookie season in 2021. Fromm isn’t ready to be thrown into a starting quarterback role, but the best chance for his development into a fringe starter in the NFL is to give him a year to learn behind veteran quarterbacks. Dalton and Foles would be the perfect environment for Fromm to learn what it takes to be a quality pro quarterback.
