Round 6

Due to the trade back I executed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, this 6th round pick is the last pick in the mock draft. With the lack of glaring needs on this roster, it was tough to decide where to go with this pick. The better way to think about these late round picks is deciding who has the best chance to make the 53 man roster in the late rounds.

I decided that an interior defensive lineman was the easiest area for a 6th rounder to make the roster in 2021. With Star Lotulelei set to return to the Bills defensive line in 2021, the need for a 1-tech defensive tackle has decreased a little bit. With that being said, there were rumors that Lotulelei could retire this offseason.

Lotulelei isn’t getting any younger and it would be smart to look for his successor in this draft, and 6’5″ 340-pound Tedarrell Slaton could be that guy. Slaton isn’t the greatest pass rusher, but his play strength is undeniable. His ability to push offensive linemen into the backfield consistently disrupts opposing offenses. After all the Bills wouldn’t be drafting him for pass rushing abilities, but rather run stuffing prowess.

Next. Buffalo Bills should not draft Mike Strachan. dark

Getting an interior disruptor would go a long way towards defensive success for the Buffalo Bills in 2021. The Bills lost the battle in the trenches too often last year and hopefully, Slaton can help push the needle back in favor of the Bills.
