Dean Marlowe

The final player that the Buffalo Bills should consider bringing back is safety Dean Marlowe. The Bills have two excellent starting safeties in Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer but adding a player like Dean Marlowe could give them experience as a backup and solidify the position.

Marlowe has been with the Buffalo Bills since 2017 but it really wasn’t until 2019 that he started to get some playing time and played 10% of the defensive snaps and 28% of the special teams snaps.

This past season Marlowe saw his snaps grow to 22% on defense and 48% on special teams. He also was asked to start a few games in place of Micah Hyde when he was hurt. He finished with 22 total tackles and two interceptions, with both coming in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins.

Marlowe is a player who may not generate much interest in free agency but certainly has more value to the Buffalo Bills with his experience in this defense. He should be another player they target later in free agency as they round out their roster for next season.
