Buffalo Bills mock draft after re-signing Matt Milano and Daryl Williams
Round 4 – 107th overall
Tight End Tommy Tremble – Notre Dame
No, I didn’t skip the Bills third round pick at 93rd overall, but instead, I traded back with the New York Jets. I was targeting Brevin Jordan with my third round pick, but have mocked that so many times already this offseason I wanted to give some variation. Furthermore, I think Brevin Jordan will be long gone before the Bills third round pick so I didn’t want to continue to mock draft outside of my realistic expectations.
I sent the Buffalo Bills third round pick at 93rd overall to the Jets for this 107th overall pick in the fourth round plus a fifth round pick at 146th overall and an additional third round pick in 2022. Even after trading back and missing out on Brevin Jordan, I still wanted a tight end. I think Tommy Tremble from Notre Dame more accurately compliments Dawson Knox’s game than Jordan.
At 6’4″ and about 242 pounds, Tremble is one of kind in terms of willingness in run blocking situations. He really didn’t get a ton of pass catching opportunities at Notre Dame, but it didn’t seem like he cared because he really enjoys creating running lanes with his physicality.
Tremble is still plenty athletic and has the potential to blossom into a complete tight end with receiving abilities. What is most exciting about the potential future of Tremble in Buffalo is the opportunity to run more 12 personnel. Considering the Bills have already met with Tremble during the pre-draft process suggests that the Bills would like to run more two tight end sets in 2021.
