Buffalo Bills mock draft after re-signing Matt Milano and Daryl Williams
Round 1 – 30th overall
OG/OT Alijah Vera-Tucker – USC
Without Jon Feliciano and the jury still out on Cody Ford as a starting guard, I would like to see the Buffalo Bills grab a cornerstone interior offensive lineman with their 30th overall pick. At the tail end of the first round, the Bills may not get their top interior offensive lineman prospect, but as long as they grab someone who can come in and start at right guard on day one, I’ll be content.
With Wyatt Davis already picked by the Titans at 22nd overall, my next best option was Alijah Ver-Tucker. Vera-Tucker contributed to the Trojans offensive line in various ways during his time in Southern California. In 2018 he played right guard, in 2019 left guard, and this past year he played left tackle. We all know how much the Buffalo Bills value positional versatility.
In the three seasons Vera-Tucker actually played for the Trojans, he only allowed a total of 8 quarterback hurries, 3 quarterback hits, and 5 sacks. These are pretty solid pass protection numbers from three year totals.
At 6’4″ and 315 pounds, Vera-Tucker is a very good run blocker despite not having elite athleticism on plays where he is designed to pull to the edge. The best part of Vera-Tucker’s game is his football intelligence, he really seems to understand the way an opposing defensive line is trying to attack him and his teammates.
