Free agency is right around the corner for the Buffalo Bills and they have already begun freeing up some cap space. The question now is how will they use it and Pro Football Focus recently predicted the Bills would address needs on both the offensive and defensive line.

Anthony Treash updated landing spots for the Top 50 free agents and the first player he predicted the Bills would sign is actually last year’s starter at right tackle, Daryl Williams.

"Prediction: Buffalo Bills — three years, $31.5 million ($18.75 million guaranteed)After an injury-plagued, up-and-down five-year stint with Carolina to begin his NFL career, Williams came to the Bills prior to the 2020 season to be their starting right tackle. Not only did he play in all 19 games in 2020, but he also played at an extremely high level. His 80.0 pass-blocking grade ranked fourth among all right tackles."

Williams was one of the best free agent signings during Brandon Beane’s run as general manager when he signed him to a one-year deal. Williams, who was coming off a few down seasons, returned to being a quality starting right tackle. He would start every game for the Bills last season.

As for the contract, if the Bills are able to sign him to a deal with an average salary just over $10 million, he would be around the seventh highest right tackle which seems reasonable.

The other signing Treash predicts the Bills could make is at defensive end as they sign Yannick Ngakoue to a four-year deal worth $70 million.

"Prediction: Buffalo Bills — four years, $70 million ($40 million guaranteed)Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott mentioned how his team’s pass rush is a “critical area” of improvement this offseason, and the Bills could be looking for a complete overhaul along the defensive front. It’ll take a handful of cuts and/or restructures to create the cap space, though."

There is no question that this would be a big financial commitment but it certainly would address a big need for this defense. The Buffalo Bills struggled to get pressure on quarterbacks with just their front four and this is something Ngakoue excels in. He has had at least eight sacks every season and is only 25 years old.

An average salary of $17.5 million would also make Ngakoue be the seventh-highest at defensive ends.

Next. 3 additional players the Bills could still cut. dark
