Tyler Matakevich

2021 Cap Hit: $3,700,000

2021 Cap Savings: $3,350,000

2021 Dead Cap: $350,000

The Buffalo Bills signed Tyler Matakevich last offseason because he is one of the better special teams players in the league. This past season he continued to play at that high level and had 23 total tackles and played 76% of the special teams snaps.

While there is no question Matakevich could still be a quality contributor for the Bills next season. However, with the salary cap being finalized where it is the Bills are going to have to release good players who could still contribute, like John Brown.

In addition, the Buffalo Bills have already re-signed Andre Smith who fills a similar role to what Matakevich brings to this team. When considering the cap savings, and the fact they have already brought back Smith, it would sense for the team to release Tyler Matakevich.
