Last offseason the Buffalo Bills signed offensive lineman Daryl Williams to a one-year prove it deal at just over $2M. Not only did Williams prove it, but completely overperformed relative to his contract. Williams played 1050 snaps in 2020 and only allowed 3 sacks, depending who you ask. Regardless, allowing only 3 sacks the entire year at right tackle solidifies your status of being a quality right tackle in the NFL.

Unfortunately, Williams gave the Bills so much of a return on investment in 2020 that he may have played himself out of the Bills price range this offseason. According to Spotrac, Daryl Williams is the 10th best right tackle in the league, therefore his market value is about $7.8M annually. Some people will say that the Buffalo Bills could get Williams at a discount because of the lack of available funds around the league due to the reduced salary cap in 2021. However, offensive tackle is a valuable position and there aren’t many good ones out on the open market right now, this could create a bidding war for someone like Williams.

If there is a bidding war for Williams in free agency, the Bills may not be willing to match his higher offers. As mentioned before, there aren’t a lot of appealing options at right tackle in free agency outside of Williams and the Bills don’t have anyone currently on the roster that could fill that role adequately in 2021. Therefore, if the Bills can’t work something out with Williams they may be looking for his replacement in the draft.

Below are six prospects that could viable replacements for Williams in 2021. Considering the positional value of right tackles, the Buffalo Bills would likely address this need within the first two days of the draft. On the other hand, there’s still a chance they add a bargain bin tackle in free agency and take a late round offensive tackle prospect.
