Buffalo Bills trade up in the latest mock draft for 2021 NFL Draft
Second Round
Heading into Day Two, there is still a glaring vacancy at the linebacker position after losing Matt Milano in free agency and passing on Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in the first round to take Patrick Surtain II.
Sitting with the 61st overall pick, the top two linebackers available are Chazz Surratt and Jamin Davis. Both of which would be a bit of a reach with this second round pick, but because of the glaring need to fill Milano’s vacancy in the defense I figured it would be more acceptable to reach at the linebacker position.
I ended up going with Surratt because of his high upside. Surratt is actually a converted quarterback turned linebacker, but the knowledge he had from the quarterback position has actually been leveraged into some natural instincts at the linebacker position.
At 6’2 and 225 pounds, Surratt leans more towards a coverage style linebacker, but can also contribute as an aggressive blitzing linebacker. Most of all his level of tenacity and motor on every play really reminds me of Milano, despite his lack of physicality in the run game.
61st overall: Chazz Surratt – North Carolina (Linebacker)
