Buffalo Bills: Making the case for and against signing Kawann Short
Making the case for signing Kawann Short
At the peak of his career, Kawann Short was one of the best defensive tackles in the league. He would constantly be able to get into the backfield and make plays behind the line of scrimmage. That two year stretch mentioned previously also included 35 QB hits and 28 tackles for a loss.
This was something that was missing last year for the Buffalo Bills as they couldn’t get consistent pressure on the opposing quarterback without bringing additional blitzers from other levels of the defense.
The addition of Short would also entail a limited learning curve as he played his first four years in the league in McDermott’s defense. He knows this defense well as well as having a familiarity with current defensive line coach Eric Washington from their time together in Carolina.
