Buffalo Bills: Top questions on the offensive line entering free agency
Where does Cody Ford fit on this offensive line?
The other big question the Buffalo Bills need to answer is where they believe Cody Ford’s best position is going forward. When the Bills drafted Ford in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the thought was that he profiled best as a guard.
However, as a rookie Ford saw all his playing time at right tackle and was the primary starter for most of the season. He certainly had some good moments and played well but not enough to eliminate the idea he was better as a guard.
He had a chance to prove that this past year, playing both right and left guard, but didn’t perform much better than his rookie season at tackle. He saw his season cut short due to injury, playing the first six games before missing two games. He returned in Week 9 but then suffered a knee injury in practice and missed the remainder of the season.
The coaching staff must now determine if Cody Ford should be a starter and if he should be where is his best position moving forward. That answer is going to determine the answer to the final question.
