Question 2: Could Antonio Williams or Christian Wade be that third running back?

If the Buffalo Bills don’t elect to sign another running back it likely means they feel confident in Antonio Williams or Christian Wade being that answer at the position. These are two younger backs, with limited tape, but could be the answer.

Antonio Williams was signed as an undrafted free agent this past offseason and after a few trips on and off the practice squad, he saw his first NFL action in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins. He responded with 63 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns and probably had the best performance of any running back this season in only two quarters.

Another option would be Christian Wade, who after two years on the practice squad, could finally see his first action in a regular season game. The Bills added Wade through the NFL’s International Player Pathway program after he spent time playing rugby.

Wade made an immediate impact in the preseason two years ago with a long rushing touchdown on his first career carry and then followed it up with a long reception the next preseason game. However, with the preseason canceled last year, fans haven’t had a chance to see him recently.

If the Buffalo Bills don’t want to invest more salary or draft picks to the position, one of these two players could be the solution for the third running back.
