Tremaine Edmunds

In addition to Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills may want to begin contract extension talks with the other first round pick they made in 2018, middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.  Similar to Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills will have the decision to pick up a fifth-year option for Edmunds this offseason which would keep him in Buffalo through the 2022 season.

While Edmunds has been the team’s starter every season and has now made two straight Pro Bowls, there is some question about if he will develop into the linebacker many thought he could. The physical tools are all there as he has an incredible combination of size and speed that is hard to find and he also is only 22 years old.

At times though Edmunds has struggled however those struggles could be tied to a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 1 and that appeared to linger for a few weeks after his return in Week 3. Unlike Josh Allen, I believe the front office could pick up the fifth-year option and see how he plays this coming season before committing long-term.
