Micah Hyde
Season Stats: 15 games played (15 starts), 70 total tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 interception, 5 passes defended
The same year the Bills added they also added Micah Hyde, who previously had been with the Green Bay Packers. While both Poyer and Hyde can do anything that is needed of a safety, Hyde’s strength lies a little more in the passing game and playing deep while Poyer is stronger closer to the line and against the run.
According to Pro Football Reference, Hyde allowed only 14 receptions on 22 targets for 163 yards and one touchdown, which came in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. He actually got better as the season went on as he allowed 62 of those yards in the first three games and 101 over the final 12 games of the regular season.
While Hyde may not have the interception or sack totals of Jordan Poyer, he is incredibly valuable to this defense and what he brings.
