Buffalo Bills 2020 Season Report Card: Defensive Tackle
Harrison Phillips
Season Stats: 12 games played (3 starts), 18 total tackles, 4 QB hits
Harrison Phillips entered this season coming off an ACL injury in Week 3 of the 2019 season. The injury was certainly disappointing as Phillips was playing excellent football and looked set to breakout.
The hope was that he would do that this year but the knee injury may have impacted his performance early in the season. He was even a healthy scratch for a few weeks in the middle of the season.
The good news was that seemed to be a turning point for Phillips as his play improved over the second half of the year and saw his playing time increase. He had an excellent game against the Baltimore Ravens and was a big reason for the defense’s ability to contain Lamar Jackson with four tackles and a QB hit.
Similar to Zimmer, while Harrison Phillips may not be a starter next season he should be a key part of the rotation at the position.
