The big news in the NFL on Monday was that one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, Patrick Peterson, is expected to be a free agent, according to Matt Verderame. The thought of Peterson being a free agent raises the question of whether or not the Buffalo Bills should try to add the former All-Pro corner?

The cornerback position has been an issue for the Buffalo Bills seemingly every year since Sean McDermott took over as head coach in 2017. The team was fortunate to add Tre’Davious White in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft but the other side of the field has been the point of concern.

The Bills over the years have tried to add older veterans like Vontae Davis, E.J. Gaines, Kevin Johnson, and Josh Norman and paired them with Levi Wallace rotating in. However, no player to this point has been able to secure the starting job full-time.

The Buffalo Bills now enter another offseason trying to find the solution to that second cornerback position opposite Tre’Davious White. I make the case for and against signing Patrick Peterson this offseason.
