The Buffalo Bills completely overhauled their offensive line prior to the 2019 season and were fortunate to have the same five start every game of the regular season. This past season was a very different story as the coaching staff seemed to be shuffling the starting five every week early in the season due to injury and poor performance.

However, in the second half of the season, the Bills found a starting five that played well together and the line did improve some, specifically in pass protection. Let’s take a look at some of the key players on the offensive line as I hand out my grades for the 2020 season.

Center

For the second straight year, Mitch Morse was the team’s starting center. He would end up playing 14 regular-season games after missing two games due to a concussion. Pro Football Focus credited Morse with six penalties, one sack allowed, and a grade of 65.8 which ranked 22nd among 37 centers.

At the end of the season, Morse’s play would probably be best defined as average. However, the Bills weren’t hoping for average when they made him one of the highest paid centers in the league in 2019. This certainly raises the valid question about whether or not he will return next season.
