Worst Free Agent Signing
Winner: Quinton Spain
As for the worst free agent signing the Buffalo Bills made, there was none worse than bringing back offensive guard Quinton Spain. The Bills signed Spain to a one-year deal prior to the 2019 season and he had an excellent season where he started every game and didn’t allow a single sack.
The two sides agreed to a three-year deal however Spain wasn’t able to make it through one season. The veteran started the first two games of the season but was benched and replaced by Cody Ford after Week 2. He was then released shortly the following month on October 21st.
The good news is that there wasn’t too much in terms of salary cap implications by releasing Spain as he resulted in a dead cap figure of $1 million dollars this year.
