Defensive Player of the Year

Winner: Jordan Poyer

While the offense took a step forward in 2020, the defense took a step back at times. However, one player who didn’t see their play drop was safety Jordan Poyer. Similar to Stefon Diggs, the starting safety was as steady as they come and he seemingly had a big game every week for this defense.

He finished the year with 124 total tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, five passes defended and two forced fumbles. He led the Bills in total tackles and had less than five tackles in only four games all season, including the playoffs.

The Bills ended up having five players selected to the Pro Bowl but one of the biggest snubs in the entire NFL was Jordan Poyer. He has emerged as one of the top safeties in the NFL and certainly one of the most underrated.
