There is no doubt that Stefon Diggs was the wide receiver talked about the most for the Buffalo Bills passing attack this season. However, there is no question that Diggs wasn’t the only important wide receiver and Cole Beasley deserves a great deal of credit for what they were able to do this season.

The Bills starting slot receiver joined the team prior to the 2019 season but had his best year with the Bills this past season. He finished second on the team in a number of categories, including receptions (82), receiving yards (967), and targets (107). These were all career highs for Beasley and he was named second-team All-Pro.

Recently, Nick Shook of NFL.com named the unsung hero of every AFC team and for the Buffalo Bills, he selected Beasley.

"Beasley nearly broke 1,000 receiving yards while only accounting for 18.7 percent of his team’s total target share — similar to the shares of other receivers like CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Green and Russell Gage — and served as the perfect underneath complement to Diggs, who had a career year in his first season with Josh Allen."

While the Bills got big performances from a number of players, Beasley really set himself apart and became one of the key parts of this team. He was regularly one of Josh Allen’s top targets, especially in third down situations. Of his 82 receptions, 53 went for first downs last season.

However, Beasley also deserves some credit for his toughness and getting back onto the field for the playoffs. He suffered an injury in Week 16 against the New England Patriots but the extent of his injury wasn’t really known at the time.

He would go on to play in all three playoff games for the Bills and finished with 14 receptions for 145 recieving yards. However, after their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Beasley announced he had been playing with a broken fibula.
