New York Jets

The other team likely in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes would be the New York Jets. However, where they are as a franchise, being a little further away from competing, it would make sense for them to use that number two overall pick on a quarterback.

The Jets do have Sam Darnold still on the roster but he really hasn’t shown enough for this team to not select one of the top quarterbacks in this upcoming NFL Draft.

That is why I believe Justin Fields will be the pick and ultimately be the Jets’ starting quarterback this upcoming season. The assumption is that Trevor Lawrence will be going to the Jacksonville Jaguars as the top pick so the Jets will likely pick between Fields or BYU’s Zack Wilson.

Fields has a slight edge over Wilson and should ultimately be the pick because he not only can make all the throws but is a threat to run from the pocket when needed. The former Ohio State Buckeye should be a good quarterback in the NFL and the Buffalo Bills will likely see plenty of him as the starting quarterback for the New York Jets.
