Buffalo Bills: Reviewing key coaching decisions in AFC Championship
Bills settle for another field goal inside the 10-yard line
After the Buffalo Bills settled for a field goal at the end of the first half, this one may be the play call that most questioned. The Chiefs opened the second half with a field goal of their own to go back up 12 points and the Bills responded with another good drive that went 67 yards on 10 plays.
However, they once again struggled to punch it into the end zone and faced a 4th and 3 from the eight-yard line. Even though they weren’t as close to the goal line, this was the one situation the Bills had to go for and try to get into the endzone.
The Bills defense continued to show they were struggling to slow Patrick Mahomes and the Buffalo Bills couldn’t expect to continue to trade field goals and hope to win. After seeing how effective their fourth down call was earlier in the game and how athletic Josh Allen is, these are situations the Buffalo Bills should win more times than not.
