Harrison Phillips

The last time the Buffalo Bills faced the Kansas City Chiefs, the Chiefs ran through this defense and racked up 245 rushing yards. The focus for the coaching staff this week needs to be how do they slow down the run game while not giving up too much to Patrick Mahomes in the passing game.

One player who can help in a big way is defensive tackle Harrison Phillips. It has been an up and down season for Phillips as he returned from a torn ACL last year. He struggled earlier in the season and was even a healthy scratch back in Week 6 the last time these two teams played.

However, Phillips has been playing much better as of late and had probably his best game of the season this past week against the Ravens. He finished the game with four total tackles and one QB hit while playing 49% of the defensive snaps.

The Bills may need a similar performance from the third-year defensive tackle especially with Vernon Butler dealing with injuries. If Harrison Phillips can be that anchor in the middle of this line, it will go a long way in slowing down the Chiefs’ rushing attack.
