Buffalo Bills: Gabriel Davis, Vernon Butler miss Wednesday’s practice
The Buffalo Bills are back on the practice field for the first time this week ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
The good news for the Bills is that they look to be in good shape in terms of injury with only two players missing practice on Wednesday. The only players were wide receiver Gabriel Davis and defensive tackle Vernon Butler.
The absence of Gabriel Davis isn’t very surprising as he appeared to hurt his ankle early in the game against the Baltimore Ravens on an attempted diving catch in the end zone. He left the game briefly but was able to return and finished.
While he was on the field, it appeared like that ankle injury was impacting his play for the remainder of the game.
In addition to Davis, the Bills were without Vernon Butler who missed practice due to a quad injury. He also suffered an injury during the game against the Ravens but was able to return and finish the game.
In addition to those players, the Bills also listed wide receiver Stefon Diggs and defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson as limited. Diggs has been dealing with an oblique injury for most of the playoffs and while he has been limited in practice, it hasn’t had much impact on him during the game or his snap counts.
The biggest positive for the Buffalo Bills is one player who isn’t on the injury report and that is Cole Beasley. The team’s starting slot receiver suffered a knee injury in Week 16 against the Patriots and he sat out the regular season finale against the Dolphins.
The past two weeks he has missed or been limited in practice but has been able to play against the Colts and Ravens. The fact that he isn’t on the injury report at all means he should be back to full strength for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
