The Buffalo Bills offense had a meteoric rise this season and became one of the top passing attacks in the league. While Josh Allen got a majority of the attention and credit as he became an MVP contender, the league also took notice of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

It seemed like it was a forgone conclusion that Daboll would be leaving the Bills after the season for a bigger title, head coach, with another franchise. It was even reported over the weekend that Daboll was the favorite to become the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

However, the Chargers elected to go another direction and hired Brandon Staley, who was defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. Even with the Chargers electing to go in another direction, there are still two teams with an opening at head coach, the Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles.

It appears though that Brian Daboll is not interested in either and Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press even tweeted that Daboll was not interested in the Eagles’ opening.

On Monday, Brian Daboll was asked about the reports that he would be returning to the Buffalo Bills and essentially confirmed it by saying while he is interested in being a head coach, his focus is on the Kansas City Chiefs.

While Brian Daboll is likely destined to be a head coach and could be entering his final season with the Bills, there is no question that there are many within the franchise that are happy he is returning. Most likely none happier than the Bills starting quarterback.

Daboll joined the Bills the same year the team drafted Josh Allen seventh overall. He is the only offensive coordinator that Allen has had in the NFL and these two always seem to be on the same page.

This season, Josh Allen set numerous franchise records including the most passing yards ever in a single season with 4,544 passing yards and most passing touchdowns with 37. The focus is now on the Kansas City Chiefs but the question, if this is the final game for Brian Daboll with the Bills, has been answered.
