This is a closer look at some of the regular season numbers for the Buffalo Bills opponent in the AFC Divisional Round, the Baltimore Ravens.

Last week, the Buffalo Bills faced an Indianapolis Colts team that didn’t excel in one area but really didn’t have a glaring weakness. This week, the Bills face a Baltimore Ravens team that knows what they are good at and they lean on those key aspects of their team.

This is a look at the regular season stats for the Baltimore Ravens and what Buffalo Bills fans might expect from the Ravens on Saturday night.

Offense

Total Yards: 363.1 yards per game (19th)

Passing Yards: 171.2 yards per game (32nd)

Rushing Yards: 191.2 yards per game (1st)

Points: 29.3 points per game (7th)

The Baltimore Ravens will want to run, run and then run some more. They lead the league in rushing yards per game with over 191 yards. This is due to not only have excellent running backs like J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram but also Lamar Jackson, who ran for over 1,000 rushing yards for the second consecutive season.

When they do throw the ball, the two primary targets for Jackson is Marquise “Hollywood” Brown on the outside and tight end Mark Andrews. Those two players received 46% of the total targets on the Ravens this year.

Defense

Total Yards Allowed: 329.8 yards allowed per game (7th)

Passing Yards Allowed: 221.0 yards allowed per game (6th)

Rushing Yards Allowed: 108.8 yards allowed per game (8th)

Points Allowed: 18.9 points allowed per game (2nd)

As for their defense, they rank seventh overall in total yards allowed per game with just under 330 yards allowed. On this side of the ball, they don’t have a glaring weakness that offenses are able to exploit as they rank sixth against the pass and eighth against the run.

However, the area they really excel in is arguably the most important and that is keeping teams off the scoreboard. They ranked second in points allowed at just under 19 points. In six of the last seven games for the Ravens, they have kept their opponent under 20 points.
