Houston flashbacks
A year ago the Buffalo Bills suffered one of the most heartbreaking losses at the hands of the Houston Texas in last year’s Wild Card matchup. Deja vu was felt across the fanbase as flashbacks from last year started to appear against Indy.
Flashes of ‘hero ball’ from Josh Allen, refusing to give up on a play, began to happen all to frequently Saturday once the Bills were unable to get anything rolling in the first half. While he played significantly better in the second, due to the pass-first offense Daboll changed to, there were moments that got fans concerned.
With the way that Buffalo’s defense was playing Saturday, there was a belief that if the game were to go to overtime, the result would be the same as last season; an early exit.
Fortunately for Buffalo, their last-second heroics, batting down ‘Hail Mary’ pass prevented that from happening.
As for how those flashbacks came up, it is safe to assume that the pressure and nervousness of the game was a factor. Having this moment been 25 years in the making, the pressure was increased ten-fold.
With the game and the pressure now behind them, the Buffalo Bills will look to use this game as a learning experience and move forward next week in another chance to make history.
