This is a recap of some key stats for the Indianapolis Colts who will be facing the Buffalo Bills this weekend.
The Buffalo Bills are set to face the seven seed Indianapolis Colts this weekend. While they may be the last team to get into the playoffs, they are arguably the most balanced team in the playoffs on both sides of the ball.
This is a closer look at some of the stats for the Indianapolis Colts offense and defense at the end of the regular season.
Offense
Total Yards: 378.1 yards per game (10th)
Passing Yards: 253.3 yards per game (11th)
Rushing Yards: 124.8 yards per game (11th)
Points: 28.2 points per game (9th)
The Indianapolis Colts have a very balanced offense and this offense, along with the Green Bay Packers, are the only two teams this year to finish in the Top 12 in passing yards, rushing yards and points scored per game.
The emergence of Jonathan Taylor has been a big reason for that as he has broken out over the second half of the season. In the last six games of the season, Taylor is averaging 123.5 rushing yards per game and seven rushing touchdowns. In three of the last four weeks, the rookie running back had two rushing touchdowns.
Defense
Total Yards Allowed: 332.1 yards allowed per game (8th)
Passing Yards Allowed: 241.6 yards allowed per game (20th)
Rushing Yards Allowed: 90.5 yards allowed per game (2nd)
Points Allowed: 22.6 points allowed per game (10th)
This is not the week to try and get the run game going for the Buffalo Bills as the Indianapolis Colts are one of the best against the run. They finished the year second in the NFL and allowed only 90.5 rushing yards per game.
The good news for the Buffalo Bills though is that their strength, their passing game, is the one thing this Colts defense has struggled defending. This on paper looks to be a mismatch and one that Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and the passing game need to take advantage of.
