Defense finishes strong

Entering this season, the expectation was that the Buffalo Bills defense would pick up right where they left off last year. The Bills were bringing back a majority of their starters and had one of the top defenses in the league last season.

However, that wasn’t the case as the Bills dealt with some injuries, particularly at linebacker with Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano. The good news was that the offense was playing so well that it didn’t cost them many games.

As the season went on, the defense came together and returned to form. The way this defense finished the year they held their opponent to 20 or fewer points in four of their final six games.

More importantly, they started to really force turnovers with ten during that stretch, including four against the Miami Dolphins in the final regular-season game.

As they enter the playoffs, there are a number of good offenses in the AFC, most notably the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Bills are going to need a big performance from their defense.
