Buffalo Bills: 3 players who stood out in Week 17 against Dolphins
These are three players that stood out for the Buffalo Bills in Week 17.
This past week against the Miami Dolphins, the Buffalo Bills had the chance to give some backups an opportunity for extended playing time. The extra playing time gave some players to really stand out in Week 17 and these are the three players that stood out the most.
Isaiah McKenzie
There may not have been a player who had a bigger game than wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who had the chance to start in the slot in place of Cole Beasley. This season McKenzie has been a regular part of this offense but more as a gadget player. However, even in this role, he had already set a career-high with three receiving touchdowns entering Week 17.
This week against the Miami Dolphins, McKenzie showed he could be more than that and a good replacement for Beasley. He finished the game with six receptions, 65 yards, and two receiving touchdowns.
He also added a third touchdown by returning a punt, which was the first time for the Bills since 2014, in the second quarter which really swung the momentum in the Buffalo Bills’ favor. Even if Cole Beasley returns for this weekend’s game, McKenzie will be a part of this offense but if not the coaching staff should be confident with him as the starting slot receiver.
