Josh Allen sets the franchise record for passing yards in a single season against the Dolphins.

It has been a remarkable season for Josh Allen in his third year as the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. He has set a number of franchise records with the latest being passing yards in a single season.

He surpassed Drew Bledsoe who set the record in 2002 with 4,359 passing yards.

Josh Allen, who was the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, had some growing pains his first two years in the league. The good news was that he showed growth from his rookie season to last year but this season he really broke out and became one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

This season he set career-highs in a number of categories including completion percentage (69.1%), passing yards (4,396), passing touchdowns (35), completions (378), and attempts (547). He would go on to have his first 300-yard passing game in Week 1 against the New York Jets but didn’t stop there as he had seven more games with at least 300 passing yards.

He also threw for over 400 passing yards twice, in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins and then again in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. He would be named AFC Offensive Player of the Week four times as well as AFC Offensive Player of the Month in September.

Josh Allen also was named to his first Pro Bowl and should be very much in the discussion for league MVP. When the Buffalo Bills drafted Josh Allen, he was considered to be a player who had all the physical tools but there was uncertainty if he could develop into a top quarterback.

This season those questions have seemingly been answered as the Buffalo Bills head to the playoffs for the second time with him under center, winning the AFC East division for the first time since 1995.
