Pass protection

All season one of the more quietly discussed stories surrounding this Buffalo Bills team was their offensive line.

With injuries to Jon Feliciano early in the season, the Bills scrambled to fill in their offensive line. After signing former New York Jet, Brian Winters, the Bills established a makeshift o-line. They were further decremented at the position after Cody Ford would sustain an injury and be out for the season. Having played multiple games with an offensive line they seemingly put together from scratch every week, the team is now in a position where they are getting extreme quality pass protection from their unit.

Anchored by Dion Dawkins, Jon Feliciano, Mitch Morse, Ike Boettger and Daryl Williams, Buffalo’s pocket was near perfection Sunday.

Giving both Allen and Barkley ample time to throw, the space given in the pocket allowed both quarterbacks to go through all their progressions. Additionally, their play also stood out in the run game, especially when the second team came in.

Offensive line depth is something that has been on display all season long. Sunday’s game was just a supplemental pat on the back to the way Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott have handled the ‘revolving door’ that was the offensive line this season.
