These are the top takeaways from the Buffalo Bills win in Week 17 over the Miami Dolphins.

Scoring 56 points on the day, the Buffalo Bills completed their first sweep of the AFC East in franchise history in an extremely one-sided affair Sunday afternoon.

Setting team records in the air with Josh Allen surpassing Drew Bledsoe’s passing record, on the ground with practice squad running back Antonio Williams becoming the first UDFA to score two touchdowns in a game since 1979, though they were not done there.

In addition, Tyler Bass surpassed former kicker Steve Christie’s 140 point season in 1998 with 141. The team 56 points were also the second-most in team history, short of the record by 2 which was also against Miami in 1966.

Hidden in all of the accolades and broken records was the actual play. While records are all and well, the Buffalo Bills would have not accumulated them if it weren’t for their play in the second half.

With three scores coming from Isaiah Mackenzie, the Bills kept their foot on the gas. Adding fuel to the fire one touchdown at a time, Miami’s “win and we’re in” goal was quickly seen as a long shot.

After capitalizing on turnovers generated by the Bills defense, with two interceptions coming by Dean Marlowe, the Bills let their second team go to work. With two passing touchdowns on the day, Matt Barkley got some time to shine. Along with Barkley who connected with Gabriel Davis for a long touchdown late In the game, Antonio Williams put forth a performance that may have the team’s management seriously considering him for an active roster spot as the playoffs approach.

With Buffalo’s dominant win, the team clinches the second seed and will now have some time to rest before playoff football hits Western New York.

With all the good to come out of Sunday’s slugfest, these are the three takeaways.
