Justin Zimmer

One of the pleasant surprises this season has been the play of Justin Zimmer. The defensive tackle started the year on the practice squad and was called up twice, in Week 1 and then again in Week 6. He made such an impact the team signed him to the active roster after that game against the Chiefs.

He has been a regular part of the defensive rotation as he has played about a third of the defensive snaps since Week 7 and has made an impact. This season, Zimmer has 19 total tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.

However, the question is can his role grow more in this defense with the focus being on next year. That is why this week would be a good opportunity to give him a large majority of the snaps to see how productive he can be with the expanded workload.

If he plays well, he could end up being a bigger part of this defense for the Buffalo Bills next year and beyond.
