The Buffalo Bills have seen improvements at linebacker over the second half of the year due to the improvements by A.J. Klein combined with the return of Matt Milano. However, in the first part of the season when the team was dealing with injuries, it created an opportunity for Tyrel Dodson to get some meaningful snaps.

He started two games this season, once back in Week 2 against the Dolphins and then again in Week 5 against the Titans. In those two games, he played over 90% of the snaps and had a total of 15 tackles, one tackle for a loss and two passes defended.

This experience is important if the need were to arise that Dodson would have to step into the starting lineup during the playoffs. Since those two starts, Dodson was on injured reserve and he hasn’t played any defensive snaps since Week 5. This week could help him knock off some of the rust, get back into a rhythm of relaying the plays from the sideline, and comfortable in this defense.
