Buffalo Bills: Kenny Stills reportedly visiting with the Bills
The Buffalo Bills reportedly are bringing in Kenny Stills for a visit as potential help at wide receiver in the playoffs.
With Cole Beasley sustaining an injury during Monday night against the New England Patriots, the Buffalo Bills could be looking for some help at wide receiver and are reportedly bringing in Kenny Stills according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Kenny Stills was apart of the Houston Texans organization for two seasons after being traded to the Texans as part of the Laremy Tunsil trade before the 2019 season. Before Miami, Stills posted back-to-back quality seasons with his drafted team, the New Orleans Saints.
While playing for the Houston Texans this season, reports indicated that Stills could be on the move during the NFL Trade Deadline. Speculations revolved around him seeing a move to Green Bay to assist Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ passing game, but ultimately he was unmoved.
Weeks later Stills was released by the Texans and cleared waivers making him, officially, a free agent. Through 10 games played for the Texans, Stills recorded 11 receptions for 144 yards and a single touchdown.
Lately, the Buffalo Bills have had a bad spell of injuries. Losing John Brown and now Cole Beasley has placed the team in a peculiar situation as Week 17 approaches. Currently, the Bills have an opportunity to lock up the second seed in the AFC with a win in Miami. Due to that, Buffalo is having Stills visit to potentially help them in closing out the regular season on a high note.
As the Week 17 status of Brown and Beasley are up in the air, having Stills potentially available if he clears COVID-19 protocols on the roster would provide whoever is at quarterback a quality option in a game that has meaning.
A player like Stills would make perfect sense as he has experience playing outside as well as in the slot. A veteran player like that would go along way to solidifying the position until they are completely healthy.
Once Beasley and Brown return, it is probable that Stills and rookie Gabriel Davis would share in the same role. Davis has been one of the better draft acquisitions and has made real strides to become a reliable number two in 2021.
That being said, veteran experience can be the difference-maker in a long playoff run and having an experienced player like Kenny Stills may put the Bills in the AFC’s driver seat.
