Secondary

There is no question that this was a dominating performance by the Buffalo Bills secondary as they essentially shutdown the passing game of the New England Patriots. The duo of Newton and Jarrett Stidham combined for nine completions on 21 pass attempts for only 78 yards and an average of 3.7 yards per attempt.

The Patriots had only two players, Jakobi Meyers and James White, catch more than one pass and Newton didn’t have a completion more than nine yards.

Jordan Poyer finished tied for second in tackles with five total but had to leave to be evaluated after a collision with Cam Newton in the first half. However, his replacement was Dean Marlowe who didn’t wait to make an impact as he came away with a sack on the Patriots quarterback.

This was a team effort and the Bills secondary, like a number of other positions, is playing some of their best football of the season.
