Running Back

The thought was with how bad the Patriots run defense has been this season, combined with Ja’Whaun Bentley being out, this was the perfect opportunity to lean on the run game. The Bills did it the first time these two teams met when they had a season-high 38 rushing attempts.

However, that wasn’t the case as the Bills didn’t need much of a running game with the success Josh Allen was having through the air. The combination of Devin Singletary and Zack Moss combined for 22 carries and 93 rushing yards for an average of 4.2 yards per carry. In addition to the rushing yards, the Bills did get a rushing touchdown from Moss.

A majority of those carries came once the game was out of reach and the Buffalo Bills were just trying to run down the clock. At this point, a lack of run game hasn’t hurt the Bills too much but it has to be a bit of a concern come playoff time if Allen is struggling and they need more from this part of the offense.
